چکیده
Abstract Centered around the analysis of prescriptive portion Vedas, Sanskrit philosophical school Mīmāṃsā provides a treasure trove normative investigations. We focus on leading authors Prabhākara, Kumārila and Maṇḍana, discuss three modal logics that formalize their deontic theories. In first part this paper, we use logic to analyze, compare clarify various solutions śyena controversy, two-thousand-year-old problem arising from seemingly conflicting commands in Vedas. second part, formalized theories are analyzed employed provide alternative perspectives well-known paradoxes contemporary field logic. Thus, go back again.

There and Back Again
For the past 40 years, researchers studied the relationship between mental disorder and terrorist involvement. The literature developed in 4 paradigms, each of which differs in terms of their empirical evidence, the specific mental disorders studied, and their conceptualizations of terrorist involvement. These paradigms have not, however, witnessed linear and incremental improvements upon 1 ano...
متن کاملMīmāṃsā Deontic Logic: Proof Theory and Applications
Starting with the deontic principles in Mı̄mām. sā texts we introduce a new deontic logic. We use general proof-theoretic methods to obtain a cut-free sequent calculus for this logic, resulting in decidability, complexity results and neighbourhood semantics. The latter is used to analyse a well known example of conflicting obligations from the Vedas.

Feedback is a ubiquitous anatomical feature of sensory processing in vertebrates. In this issue of Neuron, two papers (Boyd et al., 2012, and Markopoulos et al., 2012) analyze the features of feedback from olfactory cortex to olfactory bulb.
متن کاملFrom MIT SketchML to InkML or There and Back Again
The MIT Sketch Markup Language (SketchML) and the Ink Markup Language (InkML) are both used for sketch data representation. Techniques for exchanging sketch data between the two formats, however, are currently not readily available. In this article, we present a data binding solution for two-way conversion between SketchML and InkML. We show how to transform SketchML files to InkML archiving an...
متن کاملFrom Notation to Semantics: There and Back Again
Mathematical notation is a structured, open, and ambiguous language. In order to support mathematical notation in MKM applications one must necessarily take into account presentational as well as semantic aspects. The former are required to create a familiar, comfortable, and usable interface to interact with. The latter are necessary in order to process the information meaningfully. In this pa...
